Lily Tung Crystal is an award-winning writer/producer, covering diverse topics such as arts & culture, healthcare, crime, technology, travel, and China.

She has written and produced TV shows for Singularity University and Indigo Films, aired on Discovery, Travel Channel, Biography, and National Geographic. She has hosted for Travel Channel's "World Access" and the online education platform CreativeLive. 

Lily began her career in Shanghai where she was a pioneer in English-language journalism and the coverage of contemporary Chinese culture. She served as the launching editor of Shanghai Talk, the city's first English-language monthly. She also covered arts and culture for The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, NBC News, WGBH Boston, Shanghai Television, and National Geographic Magazine

After returning to the US, Lily became a writer/producer at KRON 4 Television in San Francisco, producing segments on arts and culture, news and current affairs. Lily was then awarded a National Arts Journalism Program fellowship at Columbia University and later served on its board. She has since covered theatre for American Theater Magazine, worked as a copywriter for eBay and Sutter Health, and edited the blog Leading Others Well.

She is conversationally fluent in Mandarin Chinese.

Her media work has expanded to include working as a corporate communications consultant, training corporate executives and staff in media, presentation and facilitation skills. She is also a certified Hudson Institute leadership and transition coach.
